Editorial & Data-Sourcing Policy
Trust is the whole point of a contact directory. Here is exactly how we work.
Where our data comes from
Our listings are built from public, authoritative sources, primarily:
- Official university websites (the institution's own
.edudomain) — the primary source for phone numbers, emails, hours, and office pages. - Public government datasets such as the U.S. Department of Education's IPEDS directory, used for institution names, locations, and main contact lines.
How we verify
A contact detail is published only after it can be traced to an official source. Where
possible we corroborate a number across more than one official signal (for example, a clickable
tel: link and the same number in the page text). Each listing shows a
last verified date.
Our editorial additions
Beyond raw contact data, we add original, practical guidance — the best time to call, how to get past automated menus, what each office handles, and common issues and fixes. This information is written to be genuinely useful and is reviewed by a person before publishing.
Corrections & updates
Contact details change. We re-check listings on a regular cadence and immediately when a reader reports a problem. To request a correction, use our Report an Error form. We act on verified corrections promptly.
What we will not do
- We do not publish personal or student contact information — only public, organizational (office/department) details.
- We do not copy substantial prose from other sites; facts such as phone numbers are not copyrightable, and any descriptive text is our own.
- We do not impersonate any institution or imply official affiliation.
