Before You Begin
Your SNAP benefits sit on an EBT card, and you can check the balance any time without calling your caseworker. Knowing your balance also helps you spot benefit theft early.
What You’ll Need
Have ready:
- Your EBT card
- Your EBT PIN, for the phone line or app
Step-by-Step
- Check your last store receipt — your SNAP balance is usually printed at the bottom.
- Call the customer-service number on the back of your EBT card and enter your card number and PIN.
- Or sign in to your state's EBT website or app to see your balance and transaction history.
- Set up or change your PIN through the same card-back number if you need to.
- If your balance is wrong or benefits are missing, report it to your state agency and the EBT line right away — you may be able to have stolen benefits replaced.
